Saints 7/4 to beat injury-hit Dragons

St Helens 31-6 Warrington Wolves

There is an extra live game on Sky today due to the deal to show all Catalans home games.

After watching potential crisis club Wire on Thursday, it could be similar problems for Saints if they lose here today.

The Red V have just one win this season, against Leeds on the opening day, but they were in the game until the last few minutes at Hull last week.

It’s been an indifferent start for the Dragons who had a good win at Hull, but produced a shocking performance at Headingley last week.

At home they have won a scrappy game against Warrington and had a dismal draw against Widnes.

Sam Moa, Fouad Yaha and Krisnan Inu come in for Catalans but Greg Bird is out whilst Keiron Cunningham names the same 19 that lost at Hull last week.

Super League sponsors Betfred give Saints a 6-point start on the handicap and given both sides slow start to the season, I think they can stay inside that.

It is a game that could go either way with maybe just a score in it. St Helens were by no means embarrassed at Hull last week and were well in it until the 8-point try was given.

Catalans are vulnerable early in the season before the warm weather comes and were very poor against Widnes last time out at home. Their only home win so far this season was against a patched up Warrington the week before Wire played Brisbane.

Neither side fills you with confidence really, the hosts are 1/2 to win with an away win only 7/4. I would be more confident about Saints if they didn’t have such a poor record in France but if pushed they could just get home by 1-5 points.

It’s certainly not a game to be going in heavy on, you can boost the 1/2 for Catalans to 10/11 on the Half Time Full Time.

Alternative handicaps are available at Betfred, Catalans to win by over 10 points is 11/8, with Saints 11/8 getting only a 2-point start.

Fouad looks the pick at 13/2 to score the 1st try, in form Percival could be an alternative at 17/2. Don’t forget Betfred double your first try odds if your player goes on to score a second try, as Kallum Watkins did last night.

Anytime try bets last the full 80 minutes and Justin Horo looks the best value at 11/4.

We’re back next Thursday for Leigh’s trip to Wakefield. As always, please gamble responsibly.
