Catalans Dragons will be without Greg Bird for four matches following his dangerous contact charge on Wigan Warriors forward Gabe Hamlin.
Bird pleaded guilty but appealed the severity of the charge.
The Australian forward was unsuccessful in his appeal and will miss the next four games, including his side’s Challenge Cup semi-final against St Helens.
He has also been fined £500.
