Catalans ‘following’ former Wigan favourite

Catalans Dragons CEO, Christophe Jouffret has revealed the French club are ‘following’ out of favour New Zealand Warriors centre Anthony Gelling.

Having only played five times for the Warriors this season, the former Wigan favourite could be heading back to the Betfred Super League if Catalans decide to continue their interest.

When asked if Gelling is a player Catalans are following for 2019, Jouffret told Treize Mondial: “Yes he is a player that we follow and with whom we discuss but it is not only him,”

“We are in the period when the negotiations are growing and we still have 15 players at the end of the contract.

“We will do our best to keep the best players and strengthen the membership with other players.”

Gelling played 115 times for Wigan in six seasons and scored 52 tries in Cherry and White.

With Sam Tomkins already heading to Perpignan next year, and Micky McIlorum already at Stade Gilbert Brutus, will Gelling join his ex-teammates?
