Catalans Dragons forward Greg Bird has been banned for four matches, ruling him out for the rest of the season.
He pleaded guilty to his Grade D dangerous throw charge against Halifax, but appealed against the grading.
However, the forward’s appeal failed and Catalans will be without one of their most experienced players for the most important part of the year.
Bird was also given a £300 fine.
