Should Castleford Tigers draw or beat Wakefield on Thursday, they will be presented with the League Leaders’ Shield after the game at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.
The Tigers are ten points clear at the top of the table and only need one point to confirm top spot for the first time in their 91-year history.
Should that be the case then the presentation will take place straight after the final whistle and will be televised live on Sky Sports.
The League Leaders’ Shield winners will also receive £100,000 prize money and automatically qualify for the 2018 Dacia World Club Series.
Finishing top guarantees Daryl Powell’s side a home semi-final in the play-offs against the team that finishes fourth at the end of Round 30.
Castleford are currently 6/5 favourites with Super League sponsors Betfred to go on and lift the Grand Final trophy at Old Trafford in October.
