Westwood charged for Sutcliffe incident

Warrington Wolves forward Ben Westwood has been charged with a Grade D offence for the late hit that saw him sent to the sin-bin during Friday’s match against Leeds.

The former England international faces a ban of three to five games for the ugly incident in the first minute of the match at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Rhinos utility man Sutcliffe left the field and didn’t return following the challenge, with Warrington going on to win their first match of the Super League season.

He should have also had a red card never mind the sin bin. This is the only way that they will learn dangerous tackerling can end a rugby players career. I watch the game and the way his neck and head went back was spine chilling
